Brittany M. took these pics on XMAS day

and this one I just found on Ness' camera:

Ness recorded this man playing the violin accompanied by his musical box:

this is a sweet video of Anita Bryant getting a pie in the face! Oh man, after seeing MILK, it gives me great satisfaction to see this lady get a pie in the face.

We're going to MASS MOCA today in North Adams, Massachusetts to see some of the arts. I am finally starting to feel better. I hope it lasts.

I found this R. Stevie Moore 2 x LP at Sound Fix in Williamsburg!

I wish I could scan in the beautiful fabric that we found at the magical fabric store in Brooklyn that Kendra took us to!

OH SHIT! Thanksgiving is tomorrow! it's gonna be at Josh & Taylor's house this year, and it's gonna be delicious. Here is a lovely picture of our hosts:

I wonder what Mykey's Thanksgiving day will be like in Uganda. I hope he doesn't have Malaria after all.

Jeremy started a web log!

LET THE RIGHT ONE IN was by far the best movie I saw at the Olympia Film Fest. Also one of the best: love stories, vampire movies, and independent films I have seen in a while.

On Friday I also got all 3 of the new Norton Records volumes in the MAD MIKE's MONSTERS series. Most of the songs are pretty amazing 50's weirdo dance type tunes known as "moldies" cause they were found in the old stacks of reject records in the vaults of the unauthorized radio stations of Pittsburgh, PA.

I blew some sodium up this morning, on purpose! as well as some Mg ribbons and I also mixed some sulfuric acid with some sugar and that was an exciting surprise. I am currently enjoying electron configurations:

and then we figured out how to use "rare gas notation" which is basically just a shorthand version. but it's fun!

damn! Cole e-mailed me this training video from Wendy''s hilarious!

I recently finished two books:
The Universe in a Single Nutshell by the Dalai Lama & Taking the Quantum Leap by Fred Alan Wolf. This guy was is apparently really goofy in real life:

They were both really good, I really recommend TQL to anyone who is interested in the history of Classical Physics and an understanding of Quantum Mechanics. I recently started The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton & Before the Fallout by Diana Preston. These are 2 books that are easier to read at the same time because one is light hearted and about simple discoveries while the other is about the history of the atomic bomb.

ERKIN KORAY. It was quite a while back when Warren Lee first told me about this musician. It wasn't until recently until I finally decided to pick up one of his records (there are all about $30!)... and this record is now one of my all times favorites:

Aşka Inanmıyorum

so far I haven't seen any feature films at the Olympia Film Festival that are any good... Ness, Rachael, & I all walked out of THE FALL. That was some boring pretentious shit.

the last good movie I saw was MAGNUM FORCE with Clint Eastwood:

thanks Benny P!

oh yea, and Cole J. R. D. let me borrow RAW DEAL!!!:

have the Rolling Stones ever been more appropriately used in a movie??

gonna go to the fest tonight and see that movie BEAUTIFUL LOSERS by the people who also make A & P Quarterly.

Ness & I bought plane tickets to visit New England over the holidays! We will also be visiting NYC!

oh yea! look at this!

gotta go to QB now...

oh shit! I heard that the Reef burned down today! crazy kitchen fire. RIP the Reef.

Ness and I voted for OBAMA / BIDEN yesterday! then I hopped on my newly fixed up Peugeot and dropped off our ballots at the Gloria Dei Lutheran church. I got my fingers crossed, and now they are stuck that way.

This here is a fabulous new Batman / ZZ Top drawing that was sent through the facsimile to me on Tuesday by my number 1 favorite comic artist Benjamin Parrish:

...& this here is a real nice photograph of my very stylish grandmother Ann Collie and my mother Laurie Simmons in 1963.

I also really liked this trailer for WALKABOUT:

and last night Ness & I watched LETHAL WEAPON with Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. I hadn't seen it since I was a kid and I was shocked to find it to be a slightly touching and hilarious action movie! Also, Gary Busey is the bad guy!!!

I also just got this new Sublime Frequencies LP that is really rad!

Thursday, October 16, 2008

this is the band The Ex with the most famous Ethiopian saxaphonist Gétatchèw Mèkurya! watch his buddy in all white shake his shoulders and everything else.

just recently posted is another S. E. Rogie video:

did I ever post this?

"aaaaawwwwwww yeaaaaaaaaa" - gang punch

oh shit! I finally saw HUMAN HIGHWAY by Neil Young. Starring Neil Young, Dennis Hopper, & DEVO! it was so bad! It was kind of like a creepy kids show. they really ruin that country tune It Takes Worried Man to Sing A Worried Song. there were some funny parts... but it was kind of like DUMB & DUMBER. More like BUM & BUMMER.

I found these live clips of S. E. Rogie on the youtube last week!

got poison oak, stone bruised my heel, and sliced up my finger all in the same instant! biff bang pow! they started callin' me "limpy".

anyways, I finally finished that movie "The Day of the Locust"! that is one strange fucking movie. I had no idea it would be weird at all... and Donald Sutherland's name is "Homer Simpson"! geeze, I could hardly believe the end... yikes

I saw Herzog's "Encounters at the End of the World" and it was enjoyable. There were some funny, strange, and sad moments but it overall felt lacking in comparison with his documentaries... even his really early documentary shorts had more of a style to them. I am still really happy I saw it though.

Port Townsend is a nice place. I would really enjoy visiting Fort Worden again when I can roam and explore all the trails it has to offer. Josh & Taylor's wedding was real nice and I was pretty excited to DJ at their reception, although I felt worried about my foot and I didn't know if it was fractured or what, and also a bunch of old ladies yelled at me for not playin' enough "rock and roll and disco!!!". ha!

I saw the PUNKSSS play at the State house last sunday and I am not kidding when I say that not only was it the best Punks show ever, the longest set ever, but it might of been one of the best shows of the year! This is the year for the punks

Friday, August 08, 2008

I found this photograph of Chris Sutton & prom night homies last tuesday when Jeremy played at the Phoenix house!

I recently bought this LP, which is basically the sequel to "Out Of This World"....and I finally gave it a good listen and it is so good. Such strange production. Everyone should give Gino (not "Geno" the faker) Washington a listen!

also, this is really bizarre...a 2 faced kitten that was born in Ohio...only lived for 2 days:
