My friend Tatiana at the food co-op lent me this book by Diane Ackerman called The Moon by Whale Light & it is amazing. I read the first chapter called In Praise of Bats which gives you the run down of all the things you didn't realize about bats, or maybe you did, and then she goes on to talk about sweet adventures around the world in search of rare bats. I have to stop reading though because school has started & now I have 3 books that I need to really get into. I've already started The Portable 60's Reader & today I picked up a copy of Deer Hunting with Jesus (which is supposed to be really entertaining!). But I am sad because Ackerman's book is soooo interesting, the rest of the book is all about crocodiles, penguins, and whales!

Speaking of whales, here's a classic Carl Sagan clip:

the INDEX s/t LP I have been trying to get a copy of forever was finally obtained today! by me! this re-issue on DC records sounds sooooo good. I wanna listen to it forever. It was recorded by a few punks from Grosse Pointe, MI in 1967 w/ one microphone. I asked Ness if she could tell when this record was released and she said "maybe early 90's or more recently?"

& that's not a bad guess.
I don't know how I ever missed all these great live videos of Suicide on the internet before.

the Monday after Spring Break in SF, CA has been a very long day. Alan Vega understands.

I put together this mix tape last night for no one in particular, but if you'd like a copy please let me know!

The last couple weeks of school were pretty busy and I feel like it's time for a vacation! Perhaps I'll jump on the next plane to SF, CA? Yea, that sounds like a good idea.

I recently (about 4 days ago) started working on a post about the Origins of Rock 'n' Roll that will take me quite a while to publish because it's going to be very in depth (I hope) and w/ lots of links and whatnot. I love rock 'n' roll folks, and I don't want to disappoint others that do too.

In other news:
